Digital Shabbos - A Quiet Season

I’ve been in a very quiet season of my life —
Reflective, healing, curious.
Less noise, less consumption.
Nestled in a canyon,
windows open,
birds chirping,
the sound of leaves rustling in the breeze,
coyotes howling at night.

Cooking simply.
Resting.
Recovering.
Reading.
Writing.
Listening.
Walking.
Stepping away from constant input
and returning to quieter things.
The nervous system settles differently
when life is no longer asking you to rush.
I’m learning that rest is not laziness.
Slowness is not stagnation.
And peace often arrives very quietly.
Sometimes getting quiet is the only real way to return to ourselves.
